You have stated that you know this musician personally and that you are therefore privileged to post your "personal knowledge" about him on Wikipedia. This is to let you know that Wikipedia is made from already-published, independent reliable sources, which editors paraphrase. On Wikipedia, one's personal knowledge is not only discounted, it's irrelevant. Also, on Wikipedia, we never advocate for anything other than verifiable facts (i.e., not the good character of our acquaintances). If the "sex offender" thing is bothering you, start a discussion on the article's WP:Talk page. Wikipedia has a policy of no WP:UNDUE emphasis as well as a policy about how we discuss criminal convictions in articles.
